We decided that is was time to add a song to our mp3.com account. The new track is "Sticker" a classic that was recorded for a "Summer's Over" compilation that never quite happened.

So show your support by clicking on the link, listening to the song, and finally, let us know what you think. As of right now, we are considering making a few song exclusive to that site. I'll keep you posted.

July 14, 2002

Mitch has been writing "Nothing Nice to Say", an online comic, for a while now, and it is only getting better. (I look forward to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday a little bit more because of it!)

In a recent issue he compiled his list of "best of lists". I am happy to report that we made #4 on his "BEST PUNK BANDS YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF" list. (It's the little things that mean so much.)

What is obvious...
May 26, 2002

The free stuff just keeps on coming...
You new it was going to happen eventually, right? Well, here it is. All of the songs from the CDEP "No Going Back" are now available for you to download. (We don't have any plans to make more copies of this disk as it is, so we are putting everything that was on the CD on the site.)

We finaly launched our new site!
In addition to making all of the songs from "No Going Back" available as .mp3s, there are some other surprises buried in here. We hope that you enjoy it.

A few months ago we recorded two tracks for "It's not the Heat it's the Humility" a "Gratuitously Skipping Records" compilation. The process hasn't been without it's challenges, we are currently "experimenting" with the final mix. I hope that we will be able to hand a final version of the recording over to Mitch soon.

We have been having a blast playing some good shows. Be sure to check out the "Fireball Espresso Cafe" and the "Java Joint". These venues have been very good to us and we appreciate it.

New Sticker Design!

As some of you may know, the offer to get a free sticker from theOffset changed a while ago because our page found its way to a "Free Stuff Site". To make a long story short, we ran out of stuff to send. I am happy to say that a fresh sticker order is in the hands of "the Sticker Guy"! (This means that those of you that have been waiting for stickers, should be getting them in the mail.)

Making the Grade?
May 5, 2002

"The Area" KVSC's (88.1FM) local music show broadcasts from 7:00pm until 10:00pm (CST). (You can listen to a live stream on their website.)

We were very excited that "No Going Back" made the cut for the years "best of" list! We ranked 15th under the Midnight Evils (some friends of ours) who were ranked #5.

Fireball?
January 27, 2002

We are in the middle of recording some songs for "It's Not the Heat, it's the Humility" a "Gratuitously Skipping Records" compilation. ("Sticker" and "She's Making out with Matt Morris") I have no idea what the release schedule is, but feel free to contact Mitch and ask. Adam Welle, from Endahl, is going to help us out with mixing and mastering the tracks (and we are VERY excited about that).

By the way, we played with some great bands (and really cool people) this last week. Mike, Wandering Aimlessly, and Kites and Power Lines. If you have the chance, check them out.

(I also want to thank Blake for letting us use his footage in our first media clip.)

Striving for perfection in an imperfect situation.
July 6, 2001

It has been over a month since we finished recording tracks and started putting in the final touches for our upcoming release. I am happy to report that it we are almost finished. Since I am not sure about all the facts I will not state details. Instead I will leave you with this.

I hear an end, and it sounds nice.

Recording, local bands and creating a way of life.
June 13, 2001

It has been a long time since theOffset has been in the studio and during that time we have gotten more than our fair share of less than subtle reminders of that fact (we appreciate that). We knew it was time to record some of our new material, so in the early part of May the three of us got together to begin working on a new recording project. We decided on the six tracks that we would concentrate on and got to work.
(Songs: Wrote it on Tuesday, Grey, Linoleum, Davenport, Regret and Innocent Life.)

Right now we are in the middle of mixing the six songs and I think that things are going pretty well. We hope to have a "limited release" available in the next month or two (fingers crossed).

Now, I would like to introduce you to theArgument!
(the exclamation point is essential!)

Our good friends Xakk (Officer Annie and booking agent extraordinaire) and Mitch (Summer’s Over ‘zine) have joined forces with Shane to form St. Cloud MN’s latest assault on the music scene. Defying classification, they are definitely a band to see. Oh yeah, they are getting buttons made.

Which brings me to the "way of life" that I alluded to in the title. Xakk (as mentioned above) found a great deal on 1" buttons. So he sent off an order and included a design for theOffset! (the exclamation point is NOT essential).
(Come on, when you describe life don't you envision a one inch circle with a sharp point on the back? I do.)

I guess I can't really call it "news" when it takes me this long to update information. I am sorry. (Haven't we all heard that before?)

So here is what I know:
•Tony is recovering nicely.
• Adam has been writing some new songs.
• I am trying to write some more songs.
• We are getting ready to play some shows.

What A Show!
November 9, 2000

November 8, we played with Nada Surf and the Impossibles. It was one of those weird shows that you really don't know what to expect or how to prepare. So we decided to go at it straight on. Play a diverse set and see what would happen. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a good turnout for a Wednesday night show. The crowd was receptive. It was a lot of fun.

October 27, 2000

Well, let's start with the most obvious thing. Today, I finally published our new web site!

Adam is doing really well, he still has a little stiffness in his wrist but as far as his playing is concerned, he's 100%. You can't keep a good guy down, he has been writing at least a song a week, really good stuff too.

We are getting ready to record again and I am really looking forward to it. It's been a long time since we put anything out, and I think it's past due. So as the Minnesota winter takes over we are going to cuddle up in a warm studio and strive for that perfect take. I will keep you posted...

July 3, 2000

Adam went to the doctor a few days ago for more x-rays. His arm is healing well and everything looks great! He said that the cast will be removed on the 13th and that he is looking forward to playing as soon as possible.

June 23, 2000

A couple of weeks ago, Adam hurt himself in a work related accident. His wrist will be in a cast for approximately 4 more weeks.

We are all hoping for a quick recovery.

May 23, 2000

Someone said, it was a guitarist's worst nightmare. I just had to laugh. The show didn't go off as well as planned. Thanks for coming out!

By the way here's the list : Bass kept cutting out, Guitar cut out, Drummer couldn't hear, FUSE BLEW!!! We borrowed Nothing Jive About Jupiter's head (thanks). Played Davenport, went home.

May 19, 2000

Okay, so the Offset is back, writing songs and playing shows. Maybe sometime in the future I will lay out what happened over the last few months (probably not). It should be sufficient for us to say that we missed getting together and making music. So we are doing it again and it has been amazing! Speaking of shows, we are playing this weekend at the Java Joint with Nothing Jive About Jupiter and Akra. As always it should be a good time

Most of the people that made up the Misfires are playing in a new band, I urge you to check them out! They are now called : Signal to Trust. There isn't anything set up yet, but we hope to be playing some shows with them in the future.

Rumors, vicious rumors. Well not really. After a much needed two month break, OFFSET is back on track. CD?, maybe; shows?, Definitely.
