Little girl so all alone in her fathers eyes so cold
All her dreams turn to escape but there's nowhere she
can go.
Every night she hides from him trying not to set him
off.
Although she knows not what she's done, she knows that
she will pay the cost.
Hope he's not in a bad mood.
Hope he's not been drinking.
See him coming from across the room
And I feel my stomach sinking.
Through the years she told no one for fear what he
would do.
And when she finally told someone, they didn't believe
that it was true.
She knew his rage would come again, she could see it
in his face.
All her innicence is gone; there's a numbness in its
place.
Hope he's not in a bad mood.
Hope he's not been drinking.
See him coming from across the room
And I feel my stomach sinking.
This time her father's beast had come and there's nothing
she could do.
Lifeless body spread on the ground and she never would
come to.
If only someone had listened to her and believed what
she had said.
Things might not have turned out this way and she might
not be dead.
Hope he's not in a bad mood.
Hope he's not been drinking.
See him coming from across the room
And I feel my stomach sinking.
